The investigator had just finished inking Patrick’s fingers.
With a smirk, Patrick said, “Careful, you don’t smear it now. Don’t want to ruin the evidence.â€?
The investigator rolled his eyes, but Patrick noticed a small smile on the corners of his mouth.

Pressing his fingers against the paper, the principal was nearly jumping out of his skin from excitement. But when Patrick picked up his fingers from the paper, the two men were hugely surprised about what they saw.

Only black ovals.

No ridges, no white-and-black striping.

The principal was nearly twitching. He was sure that he had done it! He was ready to bet anything on it!
Patrick looked contented.
