What I would like for you to do is read a page from any work of fiction. Got it?
Ok. Now go back and read it again with a critical eye. See if you can see what the author has done to advance the story. See if you can spot the things the author has let you in on without coming right out and saying it. See what things the author has left to your imagination. Check the pacing of the event. Fast: Action. Slow: Love Scene. Look at the sentences and paragraphs.And also note the POV .
All these things are designed to improve the story for the readers.
