Nice, reflective sort of assignment. I’ll try to keep these in mind the next time I get to pick up a work of fiction.

Are/were you an English teacher at some point?
Professions aside, this is a greatly informitive piece. Now that I think about it, the advice makes perfect sense.

I have taken notes on one of favorite books before… though I don’t remember getting very far. I think if I go back and take your advice, specifically about noting the way the author advances the story, I can edit my own novel better!
