A Name Means Everything

“But, how did you know my name?” Lucas stammered.
“I had to learn the names of all men. Living and dead.” Princess Tuesday smiled graciously. “Now, back to the quest. I give you this.” She produced a sword. Its golden hilt gleamed in the light from the stained-glass windows.
“I am just Lucas. I cannot do this.” Tears appeared in his eyes as he offered her back the weapon. Tuesday became frustrated.
“Humans! You can only see the present, and never potential! Look past flesh and bones and view inside; view your raw being.” Lucas closed his eyes. “Your burden shall be light.” Tuesday assured him.

I found myself growing fond of the two. We had just passed through the Trembling Woods- which I never go through alone- and they hadn’t cowered in fear.
“We stop here.” I decided. There were a few over grown mushrooms about, and a creek nearby.
“What are we looking for?” Lucas finally spoke.
“A name.” I sat down and stroked my beard. “A name means everything, here.”
