Grotto of Nom
“But where do we look? How are two children and a faerie supposed to find a prince’s name?” Judith shrieked. I sucked my teeth, and tried to find the English for what I was trying to say.
“We find the Grotto of Nom. There a a series of fields and mountains. I’ve never actually been there myself.”
Lucas and Judith stared at him incredulously.
“I can’t do that!” They exclaimed at once. I became very acrimonious at that point. My speech became excited, and I flew around curses in tongues unknown to man. The frightened children moved away from me.
“Did you listen to princess Tuesday at all? How do you know what you are capable of if you never even try?” I cried.
“I’m sorry. I- I’m willing to try.” Judith whispered. Lucas simply nodded.
“I hope you know, I was never supposed to come along. This is your fault!” Lucas hissed at her. I forgot to tell you something else about faeries: we have superb hearing.
“No. This was as much your fate as it was hers.” I called back.
