A Resolution
When Lissom did nothing, Judith jumped in after him. She, too, was swept away by the current. A pale hand reached from the depths to grab hers. “Luc?” She screamed, begging for it to be true. They grasped each other, trying to swim against the current. Finally, they could fight no longer, and were about to give up, when a tree branch appeared above their heads.
Judith sat on a rock shivering in the cold. Lucas did all he could to warm her with his frigid body. “Don’t got to sleep.” His teeth chattered and his warning was serious. He began to worry. Her shakes were violent and frequent. Judith’s face was completely white, all except for her lips; they were purple.
“I’m sorry!” He screamed to the heavens. “Are you happy?” Judith lay still in his arms. A loud burst was heard, and a light warmed their faces.
“Flattering child. You have at last seen your raw being.” Princess Tuesday stroked his chin. “Now, get up. The path is hard. But I shall make it easy for your sake.” She smiled and pointed upstream.
