A Cat's mind and a Serpent's Tongue - Part 3
Seline watched Henry walk out to the barn. She began to think about the day she met him. It was ten years ago, to the day, a younger Seline was laying beside a burnt patch on the ground. She couldn’t move, nor speak. Both of her back legs were broken, and she was numb from the pain. She slipped in and out of consciousness. A young boy, almost eleven years of age, came upon her. His brown shaggy hair reminded her of dried out moss. The boy smiled at her as he reached to pick her up. She swatted at the boy’s hand. She growled at him.
“I won’t hurt you.â? He tried to swoop her into his arms again. Seline allowed him to do so, since her energy was depleting rapidly. “My name’s Henry, and I’ll take care of you until you’re much better.” Her tail twitched impatiently. She hated the boy, the man she loved was supposed to take care of her. “Let’s go home, Seline.” She blushed when he said her name with such kindness.
