The World Reborn
Engulfed with sadness, Gaia fled the heavens to the vast reaches of space, never to be seen or heard of again. Unbeknown to her, not all had perished in her firestorm. Some had survived. Some of the inhabitants of a village on an island off the coast of the province where Moridan fell had survived by luck alone. Anywhere from 300 to 400 people had gone into the mine near the town to see a giant gold deposit that was recently discovered, and so they were protected.
When they were at the deepest section of the deposit, the firestorm occurred, destroying their city, along with all other cities. They were forced to stay in that mine for several hours while waiting out the strange occurrence.
The villagers emerged from the mine, and what they saw shook them to the core. All the grass had become dry, if not already dry. If it was dry, then it, and the grass around it, was burnt. This, among many other things took the villagers by surprised. Slowly, they began to explore their strange new world.
