Ficlets

Like Rain

I think, if you could, you’d float away
On clouds of indecision
Off, into the setting sun,
Where your would-be dreams
Are dissolved, or evaporated
You’d drip back down the ground
In the heart of a tiny raindrop
Where I would watch you
Slide down the dirty window pane
Coming to rest, silently,
In a patch of purple morning glories
