Free Nap
The next morning Oliver woke to another rough day. He wasn’t nearly as tired, but the cut on his forehead was still painful and felt hot to the touch. None were much better off, some worse.
The gaurds came and shouted them into moving and heading out to be tested on some more.
“Come along, little lab rats,” a particularly mean gaurd shouted at them, then laughed harshly, showing his disgusting yellow teeth to the world.
Then he kicked those that were getting behind onto the way too small bus.
They arrived at another testing lab, looking very similar to that of yesterday. But then again, they all looked the same.
Oliver was lined up with other boys and girls. Today a new form of knock-out dart was being tested.
The man with the dart gun went down the line of orphans, shoot, shoot, shoot.
The children slumped to the ground, Oliver one of them. A few hours later they all came too.
Despite bruises and the like, it was one of the best tests ever.
They’d all gotten a free nap.
