A Dr. Seuss Christmas Carol
The Spirit stopped beside one little knot of business men. Observing that the hand was pointing to them, Scrooge advanced to listen to their talk.
“Hello.”
“Hello.”
“Do you like my hat?”
“I do not like your hat.”
“Good bye.”
“Good bye.”
Not another word. That was their meeting, their conversation, and their parting.
The Ghost conducted him through several streets familiar to his feet. They entered poor Bob Cratchit’s house.
“Hop! Pop! We like to hop! We like to hop on top of Pop!”
“STOP! You must not hop on Pop!”
But they were happy, grateful, pleased with one another, and contented with the time.
“How could it be so? It came without ribbons! It came without tags! It came without packages, boxes or bags!”
And what happened then…?
Well…in Who-ville they say
That Scrooge’s small heart
Grew three sizes that day!
May that truly be said of us, and all of us! And so, as Gerald McBoing Boing observed, “BOING!”
