Ok, first of all, really sorry it’s taken me so long to get to this. Ficlets has been crashing on me every time I click on something new (not anyone’s fault, I’m sure), so I haven’t been able to get around to it. Much less get to this page to write.

Anyways, after much careful deliberation, I have decided that the final Honorable Mention will be given in the form of the Conversationable Award to FlirtingWithaBrickWall for making a great and funny ficlet, and yet using mostly dialogue for the words. So simple in idea, yet executed marvelously.

This story was extraordinarily written, combining great details and characterization. We can definitely identify with the coup of crewman thirteen. Washing kumquat-encrusted pans, relaying “ink-splattered envelopes” and all with his “sub-par looks.” Gotta hand it to him! Congratulations, Batak Beatrix!
