Too Early to Call Someone
I woke up the next morning with a groan. Was my phone destined to wake me up every morning now.
Luckily it was much earlier this time. Only seven. I was pretty upset that someone was calling me at seven in the morning, but at least I hadn’t slept through my entire day.
The name showed up in bold against the green of the screen as it always did. Max I had a cheap second-or-third-hand cell phone, but what did it matter. Max was the only one that called me.
So I sat up and cleared my throat, yawned, and then answered the phone.
“Yeah?”
“So have you thought of an answer for Jake yet?” he asked.
I frowned. “Yes, I have. No.”
He started to object, but I talked before he could.
“Have you talked to your soul mate yet?” I was sucessful in changing the topic of discussion.
“She is not my soul mate. And I haven’t yet, but I will. God, Jo, it isn’t like I’m calling her at seven in the morning! That’s too early to call someone.”
“Then why did you call me?”
With that, I hung up.
