June's Story: Part Two
So she was already a rather shy ten year old when her parents had been around, prefering to keep to herself than play with her friends.
When they died she became nearly silent.
Despite her silence she grew, if anything, closer to her friends. She now lived with her grandmother, not too far away. She was still able to go to the same school and see her friends every day, who were completely supportive.
This lasted for a year, and she healed. And then accident struck again.
Her grandmother had a stroke, and there was no one else. She would have to leave all of her friends behind, and go to the closest School for Orphaned Young Women.
The closest SOYA was a city away, and she would have to leave her friends behind.
For a while it was ok. She loved them and they loved her. Letter Sunday was always filled with packages, letters, post cards just to say hello.
But she could never actually see them, and letters dwindled.
From every week to every month, then later and later. Then…Nothing.
