June's Story: Part Three
It wasn’t as if they hadn’t tried.
But it was hard, especially at the age of 11, to keep up with a friend. Really hard.
And they’d tried really hard for a long time.
Every holiday they would get together and have fun, feeling as close as ever.
But later letters came to discribe different things. Cute boys, boyfriends, dates…Things that June, in an all girl’s school, didn’t know anything about.
So one three day weekend when she arrived off of the SOYA ’s green bus at the house of her friend and found a strange boy opening the door (later she would find out it was her friend’s boyfrien) she realized how much things had changed.
It was awkward between them, at least at the first.
That was the last time she’d went to visit.
Her friends had been amazing, the letters were exchanged until she was fifteen! But the last letters were fifteenth birthday cards, and there had been months between those.
Her friends were amazing, but not overly amazing.
