Sasha's Promise
“Is everything ok, James?” Sasha asked with an inquisitive look in her eyes.
“Yeah, of course, I’m just…tired.” I replied, trying my best to be convincing.
“Good. You’d let me know if anything was wrong, right?” she asked as she slipped her arm through mine.
“Definitely.” I replied with feigned assurance.
“I just feel like I miss so much of your life since we barely get to talk or see each other. I want you to promise not to leave out anything important when we do get the chance.”
“I promise.”
I’m such a liar. I’ve left out the biggest thing in my life right now. I don’t love you anymore, I love Katie! is what I want to scream. But Katie doesn’t love me, so what’s the point of ruining the one chance at love I have?
Katie can’t love me, because when someone you love kisses you, you don’t compare their kiss to your brother’s. Even if they lie and tell you that they were thinking of someone else.
