Scene Seventeen, Take One (But There Probably Won't Be a Need For Many More After Take One)

“Hey, Taylor! Is it just me, or is this movie a little more tough than the others?”

Taylor smiled. “Oh, no. It shouldn’t be too hard for an actor of your status.”

“But this scene calls for me under a guillotine! Without special effects!”

“Minor details.” The director took up his megaphone and yelled. “All right, people, let’s get this show on the road!”

The actor sighed and took his position. Another actress came up to him. “Don’t worry,” she said, “Taylor’s like that. He just likes to play with your mind sometimes.”

He smiled nervously and resumed his postion under the razor-sharp blade.

“All right, scene seventeen, take one. And….action!”

An armored actor stepped up beside the guillotine. “Thou hast outspoken against the king! Thou shalt be slain thrice over the head, which shalt be severed from thine body.”

The actor under the guillotine had just enough time to wonder how one could be slain “thrice” when the blade started its deadly descent.
