Derrick continued, “Your boyfriend? And what was he doing?”
Macy answered, “Nothing, he’s just mad because I talk to more guys than him.”
“It didn’t look like nothing. It look like…he was hurting you.”
“Shane isn’t like that! He loves me and it bothers me that you would accuse!”
“Macy I know what I saw!”
“Do you?! Do you really know?” Macy’s face was red and she ran away from Derrick. He didn’t follow her, but he should have because she ran right into Shane.
Shane was clearly angry still and he hissed, “Who was that?”
“No one.” Macy stuttered.
“I don’t like him.” Shane growled, “Stay away from that scum.”
“Sure whatever.”
“Don’t whatever me. Do you hear me? I want you far away from that guy. Don’t make me mad.”
“I know what you’re like when you’re mad. Lets not cause a scene.” She patted his big hand and freed herself from his strong grip.
Shane loved her. Right? Just anger, it’ll pass. He wouldn’t hurt her anymore. He loved her? Or loves her? Or…um?
