Relief
Abbie and Alexia looked up at the sky. To them the sun looked like a yellow gem shining brightly in the sky.
“Finally, some sun light. After being in that cave for so long I was beginning to wonder if I would ever see sunlight again.” Abbie said as she tried to catch her breath.
“I know. I felt the same way. Come on. Lets get into the shade until we can get used to the light.” Alexia replied.
Alexia took Abbie’s hand and helped her up. Together they walked over to a nicely shaded area under an orange tree.
“Abbie, are you hungery?” Alexia asked looking up at the oranges.
“Yeah. Extremely. Did you - even have - to ask? We did - go - two days—with out—food—you know.” Abbie replied between breaths.
“Good point. Alright. You rest and I’ll climb up there and get us some oranges.” Alexia said.
She looked at Abbie one last time to make sure she was ok and then began climbing the tree. Once she got to where she could reach the oranges she grabbed as many as she could.
