Luna looked up. She had bumped into Mark.
“Oh, uh-sorry!” she said, bending to pick up Chelsea’s textbook.
“I ran into you the other day. What’s your name?” Mark asked, handing her a paper that had fallen.
“Luna. Just Luna,” she smiled.
“That’s a nice pendant you have there,” Mark nodded to her silver wolf necklace. “You like wolves?”
“Actually I…have a closer-up experience with them than most people,” Luna said. It was half-true, after all.
“Really?” Mark’s eyes widened.
“Really,” Luna looked at the textbooks in her hands. They were getting heavy. “I gotta go…But, um, Mark? Before you go, can you-er-meet me at the picnic area tonight? I have something to tell you.”
“Eh…sure,” Mark looked bewildered.
“See you!” Luna didn’t know what she was doing.
But it felt right.
