I was thinking a lot about Parker while I was lying on the couch with Brooke.
I wonder what he was doing right now. Maybe we could get a few drinks later…
“Thinkin’ about anything?” Brooke asked, looking up at me.
“Other than you?” I responded.
“Yeah.”
“Nothing.”
I kissed her forehead and we fell asleep again.
I know a lot of people are thinking “how can they be that tired?”. We weren’t,. It’s just when you work that much apart from the person you really want to be with, when you get the chance, you can rest with them for days. This day….was the best I’ve had….in a long time.
I told her that, she just smiled and laid back down on top of me. I felt her nod on my chest.
“Same here.”
