I love the dialect and the self-depreciating individual in the role of leader! It’s not often we get inside the closed circles of those who run things. At least there’s some remorse on his part.
Then the ending, ha! Serves him right, for ignoring the warnings and killing his land.

I like the visual of the harried leader trying to salvage a bad situation that we only have hints about. And the title and ending combo worked nicely for a good surprise ending.
