Land of Confusion: Codename Visitation
Kicking her legs to free them from the entangling bedsheets, Eve lunged toward her desk and snatched up her phonecase. Just as she flipped open her phone, a quiet knock sounded at the front door.
She paused momentarily, but she knew her movements had already been heard by whomever was at the door. She looked at her clock. Ten in the morning, and it was Saturday afterall, so it could be anyone.
Knocking, again. “Crap,” she whispered harshly and gritted her teeth. Glad that she had her long pajamas on, Eve grabbed the hoodie hanging on her chair, flung it on, stepped into her slippers, dropped her phone into her pocket, rushed to the door, remembered to breathe, and opened it.
Isaac was leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, milkcrate full of files at his feet, holding his phone, smirk plastered on his face, “I’m impressed. Only four minutes thirty- two seconds.”
Eve swung the door to close it, “Jerk.” Isaac caught the door with a laugh, “I have something for you.”
