I rang the door bell to the Jonases house. Joe answered the door.
“Hey!” he said.
“Hey!” I replied.
“Wanna hang?” asked Joe. He flashed a peace sign.
“Actually, I’m here to see Nick. No offense!”
“Really?” asked Joe. “He’s been so depressed,”. Just hearing Joe say it too made my feel bad. I didn’t mean to hurt him.
“Really?” I asked, going along like I didn’t know.
“You don’t know the half of it!” Joe frowned. “Hold on,”. I waited at the door way for a moment of two. Then, Nick came down the stairs. He had cut his hair! Whoa! He looked…..wow. He looked as if he were just crying. I felt even worse. His eyes widened when he saw me.
“Hi,” I said.
“Hey,”.
“Ummmm, can we talk?” I asked. Nick nodded and let me in. I really hoped he accepted my apology. Then, Nick burst into tears. Oh dear god. Oops, that was Kevin’s catch phrase.
“Oh Nick!” I cried. “I’m so sorry!” He looked up at me as tears dripped off his face and onto the floor. I hugged him as he cried. This had never happened before. Wow.
