Nick broke away from my arms and wiped his tears with the sleeve.
“I’m really sorry,” I said. He looked up at me.
“I should be sorry, I over reacted,”.
“You know how this started?” I asked Nick.
“How?”
“I thought you liked Allison,” I said. I was ashamed to even admit it.
“Really?” asked Nick. He scratched his head.
“I thought you were in love with Joe,” Nick said. My jaw dropped. Joe? I mean we were like best friends but no like…...ewwwwww.
“Really?” I asked. Then, I started to giggle. Nick started to laugh too.
“Look, I love you!” said Nick. “Not Allison!” Oh dear god. Nick just said he loved me. And he wasn’t acting! This was something to celebrate about!
“I love you too!” I hugged him and then had an idea. “Now that we’re both here at the same time and place, how about we go out to lunch?”
Nick nodded his head. “Good idea!” he took my hand and we headed out the door. I really hoped something like that wouldn’t happen again. Well, at least for now I knew everything was fine. At least for now.
