Me and JB 70
“So, let’s start off with the basic cords,” said Kevin. Nick was busy so Kevin took on teaching the clueless me.
“An acoustic guitar has six strings, E, A, D, G, B, E,” he said. I nodded my head. I knew that. I knew how to play guitar, I just needed to practice their songs.
“What am I saying this for? You know how to play, let’s just practice some of our Jonas Brother songs!” I nodded my head again. “Good idea,”.
“This is Hold On,” said Kevin as he handed me a sheet of music. Whoa. That was a lot of notes. I could play that, with a lot of practice.
“Verse one starts off with a B, play a B,”. I strummed the guitar. Oops. I broke a string. Crap. It was Kevin’s guitar.
“I’m really sorry!” I cried.
“It’s okay, I do it all the time!” I really hoped that wasn’t a lie.
“We’ll just skip B notes for now,” he said. We practiced for a while. Well, until I only got the first verse down.
“Good job,” said Kevin. “I’m really proud of you!” I smiled. My head was throbbing. I really hoped I could get this song down.
