Isaac looked at Eve with a raised brow, “Did I say something? You have that look.” She opened her mouth and closed it again. Then sighed, “Just a weird dream about.” Isaac’s phone started singing, “_Don’t cry to me. If you loved me, you would be.”
He hit the mute button, “I hate it when she messes with my phone,” he growled. Eve laughed, “Maggie?” He nodded, “Yeah. She thinks I’m drinking again.” He rolled his eyes, “Don’t know why she’d think that,” he was mumbling.
Eve was turning and trying to walk away but he noticed, “Did you say something to her?” he accused. Eve’s phone went off. She quickly answered, “Maggie! Good morning.” She grinned at him mockingly. He put his head in his hands. “No. He’s here.” Long pause. “Noo.“
Isaac held up his hands at her and mouthed What? Eve held up a finger at him. He rubbed his forehead in frustration. “Okay, Maggie. Why don’t you come over? Yes now.” Isaac huffed. Eve shushed him. “Alright. See you.”
Eve closed her phone and took a deep breath.
