I am Anima

We walked into the cafe, which was empty besides Shyam and Jira, who were sitting close together and talking. A large man came out from the kitchen and cried out in a loud, booming voice, “Ceirra! My sister! How are you?”
Jira and Shyam turned to glance at us as Ceirra’s brother embraced her in a bear-like hug. Shyam informed us his car has been ‘fixed’ by a ‘mechanic’ (probably named ‘nobody’) while they were talking in the cafe. It is Jake (as my scheming days are over) who suggests that Shyam takes the three of us home, leaving Jesse and Ceirra to themselves. Shyam kept trying to say something to Ceirra, but she deliberately avoided eye-contact. I know it’s because she’s embarrassed, but Shyam probably thinks she’s still mad.
We left the cafe in Shyam’s car and I decided to take Shyam out of his misery, “She isn’t mad, you know.”
“What?” he asked, glancing at me in the rear-view mirror.
“She’s embarrassed because she and Jesse hooked up,” I said shortly, sending Jake into fits of miggles (man giggles).
