Something's Brewing - And It's Not Tasty
In the car ride on the way home, several things swum into my mind.
Why did he just leave like that? I thought, toying with my hair. Sure, there was insult flinging and all…but it felt like something was missing…
Suddenly, I had an epiphany. I clapped my hands together on the spur of the moment, and Kazuma (who was obviously driving) was so absorbed in his own thoughts, swerved dangerously to the left of the road.
“Whoa there, Mario Andretti!” I said, clutching the side of the car.
“You’re the one who scared me into nearly crashing!” he retorted, getting our silver sedan back on track in the road.
“I was just thinking…”
“Not too quietly, obviously.”
“Will you let me finish my sentence?”
“Go on.”
“Why didn’t Uncle Lee come this time?” I asked, and Kazuma blinked about twice before he understood who I was talking about.
“Actually…I haven’t heard from him in quite a while,” he said, taking a turn to the right.
