“What do you want? Popcorn? Candy? You name it..” said Jake. We were at the movies. The day I couldn’t wait for was finally here. Jake had caused me complete happiness and Maria, complete sadness. I felt bad when but when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
“Do you want some lemonade?” asked Jake. I nodded. We paid for the drinks and got our seats. This was a dream come true. He was really into me. I couldn’t believe it.
“So, Jake, it was so nice of you to invite me here,” I said. Jake didn’t look so happy, though.
“No problem. Thanks for coming. She’s so pissed now!” he said.
“What?”
“You know, Maria. I only asked you out so I could get Maria jealous.”
“What?” This cannot be happening.
“I only asked you out to get Maria jealous. She’s just so hot,”. I felt a rage of anger take me over. I couldn’t help it. I got up and grabbed my cup of lemonade and dumped it on Jake’s head. Tears came streaming down my face.
“Thanks a lot,” I whispered. Then, I left.
