We were at the party. Maria had invited so many people that she didn’t notice us. Our plan was that when she was near the pool we would sneak up behind her and push her in. We saw our chance. She was right there, showing off her party dress to Jake.
Nows the time, Emma whispered. Go stand right next to her and wait for my cue.
I tip-toed towards Maria. I stood right next to her but she didn’t she me. I looked back at Emma and she had an evil grin on her face.
Now Maria! she shouted.
With that Maria pushed me in the pool.
I was humiliated as Maria told all her guests the funny story about the joke I thought Emma and I were playing on her. Instead Emma and Maria had teamed up and humiliated me. Everyone was laughing, even Jake.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I climbed out of the pool.
Are you going to cry like that little baby you are? Maria said, and then she laughed.
