Bus Bench

Anna sighed. “You are absolutely unbelieveable.”
Jack smiled “How about, the Gap? About 10 miles that way.”
Anna’s eyes widened. “We are walking 10 miles?”
Jack laughed and put one arm around her shoulder, and pointed at a bus stop with the other.
Anna smiled and looked down with slight embarassment. Sitting on the bench, Jack fell silent and kept a solid stare straight ahead of him.
“Jack..quit lying to me and telling me you’re alright.” Jack looked at Anna with curious eyes.
“What makes you think I’m not alright?”
“The way you stare out straight ahead of you without blinking. The way you suddenly clinch my shoulder until my bone almost breaks instead of the way you usually lightly lay your hand there. The wa-” Jack suddenly lifted his hand from her shoulder “I’m sorry! Did I hurt you?”
“No,” Anna lied. Her shoulder was throbbing from his deathly grip. Jack wasn’t convinced. “Anna I’m sorr-”
Anna put her hand lightly over his lips. “Jack, shh. Hush now.” She layed her head in his chest.
