Faces
He looked at her with something in his eyes Anna hadn’t seen before. Even though she’d only met him that morning, she’d studied him so much she thought she knew all of his faces. They stood like that for a few moments, her hand on his cheek, and his eyes reading her face intently. Finally Anna looked away, staring to the side at the street next to them. She felt a warm hand underneath her chin as it gently pulled her stare back towards Jack’s. Anna felt almost uncomfortable from him staring at her for so long in silence, but at the same time she felt safe from being under his watch. Anna couldn’t understand Jack’s face. His expression was…well it was expressionless. His blue eyes sunk into hers as if he were reading the thoughts behind them. His mouth wasn’t curved in the slightest of a smile. He didn’t look happy, afraid, bored..his face truly and honestly was, expressionless.
“Jack…” Anna whispered afraid to speak.
