Blaze of Glory (Unexpected Twist Challenge)
This is the story about a hero. A hero, who on one day, never gave pause to the danger in which he’d found himself. A hero named, Taylor Green.
Taylor Green never could have imagined the heat of the fire that day, as he stormed through the burning living room, crouching low just so that he could breathe. The fire had all but destroyed the couch, his, once, late afternoon napping spot. But still, Taylor forged on.
He had to get to the girls. Their cries were faint down the scorched hallway. Their bedroom door shut.
They were alive.
Ignoring the threat of a fiery death, he rushed through the blaze, and rammed his body into the door.
The children’s cries had weakened, and that fueled his desperation.
The door fell away, and came down with a crash. The girls were huddled in the corner.
Now fatigued, he pulled at the semi-conscious children for all he was worth, to safety; out of the front door before timber collapsed.
Dad rushed to his side.
“Good Boy Taylor. Good Dog!!”
Dad cried for his babies.
