Seize the Moment
Lunch atop one of the park’s fire towers was perfect for Jim and Nancy. As a very active and daring couple, a hike in the beautiful Miranda Valley was a perfect way for them to keep things fresh in their two year marriage.
After his sandwich, Jim began walking the edges of the edifice, glancing at Nancy often. He’d never loved anyone as much as he loved her.
She looked at him and smiled. Her gaze stopped him in his tracks. Yes, she was precious.
He patiently waited on her to finish before calling her to where he stood.
“Isn’t it wonderful, Nance?” Jim pointed at the tops of the ridge miles away.
“Only because you’re here to see it with me, babe,” she elbowed him in the ribs and grinned.
Jim pushed her over the railing. He didn’t watch her fall, but he did hear the thud as she hit the bottom some ninety feet below.
He didnt think he would do it, but proved himself wrong. As his heart slowed down, he thought, I’m going to miss her. But the insurance check was going to be great.
