It took her a few seconds to register everything. Finally she composed her face a little & walked back to her table. Not a minute later Lance walked in waving at her & smiling. She tried to smile back but it felt more twisted than ever. He sat down across from her.
“You’re very bad at this you know.”
“What do you want.” she said coldy.
“I want to know exactly what you told your boyfriend about me.”
“How do you know about him?”
“Please. Did you think I wouldn’t hear him screaming your name constantly yesterday?”
Anna paused. “I didn’t tell him the truth, if that’s what you’re asking.” Interest flew across Lance’s face.
“Why not?”
“If he knew what really happened, he would have killed you.” Anna’s face was fierce & cold.
“So what does he think happened?”
“He thinks you dated my mom to get inside the family & then tried to rape me, but my brother stopped you, but you were proven innocent in court. Oh and he thinks it was 1 or 2 years ago.” Lance laughed.
“You left out a lot there didn’t ya girl.”
