Kevin Lawver twittered about it recently, and said there’s nothing he can do about it. Not sure who is left in charge. This is a total bummer, as I’m finally back and ready to devote some time to Ficlets, and it’s borked.
I don’t know if this would help anyone looking into the problem, but here is the error code I have been getting: Status: 500 Internal Server Error Content-Type: text/html. I’ve even tried to look it up and there are so many non answers I was left more confused than before I started. I have been scanning through the AOL /AIM site to find a customer support link to email them. If I find a successful one, I’ll be sure to post it here. May as well hit the big dogs. ;)
I don’t want to see Ficlets switch to a subscription based service, because a) We would lose a chunk of writers here, especially the younger ones who don’t have their own credit cards yet, and b) It would be hard to attract new members if they had to pay to read peer-created content, some excellent, others not so much. Still, I recognize something must be done to make Kevin’s pet project economically viable enough for AOL to want to continue to maintain it.
gah this is really bugging me! Bartimaeus and I really want to resume our series and I’m sure there are many others dying to read and sequel their series! But IDK if my parents would be willing to pay for me to write… they already think i’m on here way to much…
