In good company?
I woke up to several doctors standing over me, though I couldn’t tell how many since my vision was blury.
“Alright, he’s concious.” one of them said.
“Ok, then give him this.” another one said, and I felt my head being tilted up, the cold bitter-sweet taste of medicine filling my mouth. I made a face at the taste as my head was put back on the pillow.
I then heard powerful-sounding footsteps on the tile not too far away.
Oh no… my father…
I heard the curtain fly back suddenly, and the footsteps became even louder until they stopped right next to me. I looked over to see my dad’s bewildered face.
“Well, looks like we have two members of the family here now.” he said, shaking his head.
I managed a small chuckle, at which I winced in pain. My stomach was sore, and I noticed a sort of splintering pain in my left leg. My dad nodded.
“Looks like you’ve got a broken leg.”
I bit my lip and nodded, looking up, and as if it were a miracle of God, Rose stood before the curtain…
