Approval or Rejection?
Those words meant so much to me, I couldn’t begin to explain the feelings inside of me. A single tear traced down my face as I reached up to hold Rose’s cheek in my palm.
She sighed at my touch and leaned down to wrap her arms around me, as did I.
“I love you, Tyler..”
I kissed her cheek softly and whispered in her ear.
“I love you too, Rose…”
After holding our embrace for a few minutes, we parted, and I was left subject to my father’s deadly glare. Rose tried to smile, but only halfway succeeded. I then nodded to her, signaling for her to leave for a bit. Once she was out of earshot, my father started at me.
“So, who’s that?”
I drew a heavy sigh, trying to decide whether truth or lie would fit better. In the end, I chose truth.
So I told him about everything. How I’d been depressed, how Rose and I had talked over the internet and the phone, and how we grew closer over the past week. I eventually got to the part where I told him my feelings.
He nodded when I had finished.
“She seems nice.”
