Reflect My Heart (Part 4)
By the time lunch rolled around, Caitlyn and Tracy were becoming good friends.
“So, what are you doing for lunch?” Tracy asked, pushing her math books from that morning into the bowels of her locker.
“I’m supposed to eat with my brother, James… but I think he just invited me because he felt SORRY for me.” Tracy laughed a deep laugh. “You can come and eat with my friends. They’ll love hearing about living in the old Cardien house.” Caitlyn was intrigued. Why would kids want to know about living in that old rotting house anyways? “Sure. Let me just call James,” Caitlyn said, pulling out her cell phone. Tracy nodded and and gave her a little bit of space.
“Hey Cait, where’d you wanna meet?” he said, sounding more chipper than this morning. “Ughm… about that…” “You’re not coming?” “No…?” “You’ve made a friend! Way to go sis. No prob. Just ugh, don’t be late meeting me out front after school, okay?” “Okay James. Thanks!”
she snapped the phone shut and Tracy grinned, “Time to put these rumors to rest…”
