Reflect My Heart (Part 5)
Caitlyn had gotten the school’s generic lunch. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich, some chips, and a soda. After this morning’s incident, she hadn’t felt like making a lunch. It was a mistake. This looked like it was slopped together a week ago.
Setting her tray down next to Tracy, she edged it slowly away from her, and opened her chips instead.
“SO everybody,” Tracy said, the excitement bleeding through her voice, “This is Caitlyn.” Everybody looked up and gave her simple nods and smiles. “Caitlyn, this is Joanna, Carly, Megan and Ally,” Tracy said as she pointed to each of the girls in order.
“SO Caitlyn,” the one named Ally began, “You live down in the old Cardien house right?” Caitlyn smiled and Tracy slapped Ally’s arm across the table. “What? I’m just curious. Any ugh… ghosties? Ghoulish cries in the night? Flying knives?!” Caitlyn laughed. “No? I mean, I think I would’ve noticed…” Caitlyn wanted to delve into the story from this morning. Maybe they had insight, or maybe she would come off as crazy.
