Amethyst Frontier: Comms Out

“What the hell are they doing over there?” Frosty’s eyes fixed on the zipping shuttle craft. “WE need to call the Captain,”
“You know the regulations, Frosty, radio silence while captain is with a hostile,” Brill reminded the commander.
“Regulations be damned. We’re in the dark here. Do i bring us closer, getting us screwed forever? OR do we wait another 3 weeks?” he punched a button on the comm-console, “No, i’m not waiting anymore,”
“Frosbeld to Captain Locke, come in!” his tone was tense, annoyed.
“Locke here,”
Frosty opened his mouth,
“Standby!” Locke said. His mouth clapped shut.
Brill smiled, “Thy captain’s keeper be silent,”
“Ha!” Frosty wasn’t laughing.
Long moments went by in silence.
“Is the channel still open?” Frosty asked Lucy.
“As open as it’s ever been, sir,”
“Frosty,” the voice on the other end was lower, distorted.
“Captain?”
“We have to close the rift by flooding the hole with Ezo-Isotopes and ..” the signal was cut, static played over speakers.
“Get them back!”
“And what?” Brill wondered.
