Amethyst Frontier: Damage Control

The Karama quaked as if the whole universe fell upon it. Locke’s communicator went dead, and sparks flew from every console lining the Karama Cargo-Bay 3.
“Vargus to bridge,” the captain tried. “Vargus to..” he slapped his comms, “it’s dead,”
“At least Bael was able to contact his ship,” Morris said.
There was a rush at the door as battered Karama crewmen entered, bloodied and soot-covered.
“what happened?” ordered Vargus.
Goshen fell to one knee and reported, “The anomaly came down on the bridge. There are multiple hull breaches. We’re running on reserve power. We can’t take much more of this!”
Locke turned to Bael, “Are your people ready?”
“We are ready,” assured the Grennan.
“We need to blow up your ship, Captain,” frowned Locke. “We need to ignite that radiation with enough force that it turned the bloody thing on itself.”
“There’s no way!” the XO said, wiping blood from his brow, “We haven’t got enough power to ignite a trail of plasma let alone 10,000 mega-rads of Ezo! Everything’s diverted to shields”
