Some advice would be to create paragraphs so that the eye can rest sometimes. Otherwise I love Pleasantville! Haha, that’s a long story but I love the name of the town. And Essie seems like a pretty cool name. Exotic. :]

Is there a reason you are using the past tense? ‘I had no idea’ maybe should be I ‘have’ no idea. And ‘I had no memory’ should be i have no memory. Unless, of course you’re writing from heaven or someplace. Good effort, just needs a little editing.
