Fear
The moment our hands parted, fear struck me. Unimaginable fear. It’s the kind of fear that you feel when you think you’re about to lose everything that means anything to you… the fear you experience when you can’t feel anything…
It lasted for a only a few miliseconds, however, and I watched helplessly as Rose left the room.
I missed her presence even before she disappeared out the door. I missed her scent, her touch, her eyes… everything seemed so distant now, though it hadn’t even been a minute since her departure. Somehow, I could not force myself to focus on the positive things… rather, I worried about when I’d see her again, and what may become of us with such distance between us…
Certainly things will not change…? I asked an unknown entity in my mind, not expecting an answer. Yet, there was.
Change is the way of life, Tyler… but that doesn’t mean you have to go back…
“Tyler?” my dad said, interupting my thoughts, “You better pack, we’re leaving early tomorrow morning.”
