Where To?
“What do we do now?” I asked.
“Your dad’s been looking outa state… We also have been looking at some houses…” Mom said, wringing her hands together.
“What state?” Aaron asked.
“Well… nothing’s certain… but we’re thinking Georgia.” A tiny smile floated across her lips.
We talked for a bit longer. Once my parents had said all they needed to say, I asked to go to the park down the street, knowing they’d let me. The click of the door was like a gunshot to begin the stream of tears.
I pulled out my cell and sent a text to my best friend.
crying, i need to talk help me?
I continued walking, I was almost there by now. My phone vibrate seconds late.

She would go to my house first. I had no idea if my mom would tell her we were moving.. I sat down on a swing, kicking at the dirt.
“Hey…” I heard her say as she sat next to me.
I looked up at her, and I saw her face fall. She hugged me for the longest time. Finally I pulled away.
“I’m moving… to Georgia…”
