An Unexpected Surprise
“Alright class, today we’re going to assign you eighth grade buddies,” said my social studies teacher, Mr. Biggle. The whole entire class moaned. Why eighth graders? Were they trying to make us get along? Or did both the teachers and the eighth graders just like to torture us?
Then there was a knock at the door. It was Miss Genadald, the eighth grade social studies teacher, with at least twenty five giggling eighth graders behind her. They were like rabid animals. Except they didn’t bite. I hoped.
“Ah, you came just in time!” said Mr. Biggle. All of the eighth graders laughed and pointed.
“Look how little they are!” one whispered.
“What little babies!” said another.
I groaned and looked over at Rachel. She was slamming her head into one of her textbooks. Ouch.
“Alright, lets get you all in pairs,” said Mr. Biggle as he started to read off a list.
“Diane, your with Massey. Billy, your with Kimmy. John, your with Robert. Maddy, your with Lance,”.
Lance? What? Why? How come? Not now!
