NaNoWriMo Novel: Ch. 3 Tired
Dinner seems to drag on. I feel as if I am glancing at the clock every three minutes.
“Hazel, hunny?â? I hear my mom ask.
“Yeah?â? I say glancing up, my fork paused in midair.
“Are you alright? You seem a little out of it tonight.â? She says with a look of concern on her face.
“Yeah, I’m just… just tired is all.â? I say, putting my fork back down. “May I be excused early?â?
My mother nods. I feel slightly bad about leaving Edwin, but I figure he can handle it. Everyone is watching me as I stand. Edwin stands slightly when I do, which I assume is customary when your “ladyâ? leaves the table but I could be wrong.
