The 13th Curse part 10
As I strode on to the cafeteria, three hours after the small introduction with Jet, Vanessa sprouted right in front of me, harassing me with questions. I tried to ignore her the best I can, but, really, who really can ignore anything with Vanessa’s stereo loud voice?
“So, what did he say? What did you say in response? Did he keep eye contact? What tone of voice did you use to answer him?â? Vanessa kept running her mouth like that, fast as lightning.
“One at a time, Van!â? I laughed. “I can’t answer your questions while you keep drilling them in me!â?
“Sorry,â? she apologized. “But you know me, Nat. I’m just curious.â?
I looked at her pleading green eyes. “It was fine, considering how much time I had to talk to him. Jet used to be in a baseball team back at his old school, and he’s trying to join one here too. He hates being trapped at home, his ‘personal prison’; he calls it, and would rather be outside doing anything. His favorite subject is Science, and he dreams to be an engineer in college.â?
