The 13th Curse part 11
I noticed that my voice turned softer as I spoke about Jet, and my eyes wandered to the unknown. I flushed even redder.
Vanessa seems to have noticed this too, because she stopped short in the middle of the empty hallway. I tried to hear what she said next, for her voice was barely audible, even with no one around.
“You like him, don’t you?â?
Vanessa said it in such a tone I had thought I had hurt her. But when she looked up at me, and gave me such a look, I felt more embarrassed than I ever had in my whole life.
“Well, yes.â? I surprised even myself. “Yeah, I guess I like him.â?
“And you’re worried that he doesn’t like you, right?â?
I sighed. I couldn’t answer that question, not at that time. “I don’t know, Van.â? I admitted. It’s better to admit something to a friend instead of keeping it to yourself.
She smiled, and started walking again. “Well, no worries,â? she said with pride. “I saw the way he looks at you. Natasha, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
